It's My Box

http://www.appy-geek.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=94673924&source=blogger

While both Android and iOS have matured over the years to become powerful platforms, people are still obsessed over which one is better. The answer to that question is so subjective. The article above touts a bunch of false claims. But are they really false or were they the writer's experience?

For example, the article says that the iPhone has better hardware and software integration. It justifies this by a touch sensitive display and haptic feedback on a none moving home button. Let me introduce the Galaxy S8 to you lol. End of discussion.

Next it goes on to explain that iOS is easier to use than Android. Are we really saying that now? Any setting you need to change in the phone is multiple taps away and even hidden in menus. How about the back button being in the top left of the screen? That is so not used friendly. I wouldn't say either one is easier to use than the other. I think if you are new to either platform you will go through a learning period.

iOS had some great advantages, especially in app development. Apple Pay though is no advantage haha. It is finally starting to take off. But in order for it to work companies have to upgrade all of their equipment. Samsung Pay is way superior. It works everywhere. My card wouldn't swipe at a food truck. Samsung pay to the rescue. The 20 something year old was like sorry we don't accept Apple Pay. I laughed at him, which isn't his fault. Apple did an amazing job marketing Apple Pay. He was blown away by my Samsung phone.

Anyways, there are always two sides to everything. What works well for one person may not work well for another. My wife has always loved her iPhone. So she says... However after having it for 6 months wasn't able to update to a newer version because of space issues. Now her iPhone 6 constantly freezes and you have to turn the screen off and back on before it will work again. So everyone may end up having issues. It's a computer they aren't perfect and they go through a ton of usage. Pick your poison iOS or Android.

Samsung, Galaxy, S8, case, accessory, case mate, nakedtough

Did you already get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S8? If so are you rocking it naked, skinned, or in a case?

Go vote here on how you are rocking your Galaxy S8

Currently I just grabbed this clear case that has a rubber ring around the edges, then a thin plastic case that covers that and the back. Seems like it would do well protecting from a waist height drop. But not much more then that. After using it for a few days, I actually prefer it to be in the case. Better grip and it doesn't add much thickness to the phone at all.
If there are any skins out there you recommend leave a comment below so I can check them out.

DONT DO IT! Don't spend $50 on a damn screen protector. That's completely ridiculous. I just paid $8 for an ArmorSuit screen protector. Granted I can't give you a full honest review just yet. Give me a month of use and I'll let you know. However, I used this brand on my Samsung Galaxy S7 and it worked wonderfully. I'm not saying Don't shop at stores like Best Buy, but if you're going to over pay for a product you should probably get something of value. Read the article on The Verge, they've already checked out the Zagg screen protector that doesn't even cover the entire curved screen.

Stay tuned for my review of the ArmorSuit Galaxy S8 screen protector later next month. I'll be purchasing a case or skin soon too. Just haven't decided which one...

Armorsuit MilitaryShield Samsung Galaxy S7 Screen Protector

I might be upgrading to the Galaxy S8 here in just a few days. However, I wanted to share with you all an awesome find! I purchased a new screen protector, as my last just wasn't up to my standards. In April 2016 I purchased iCarez [Anti Glare] Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S7  and it wasn't bad for only $7. After a few months though the screen protector started to peel at the edges. It just looked nasty.

I went without a screen protector for quite awhile before find one that stood out to me. Armorsuit had a great price and decent reviews. It was also only $7 so why not. I've had it on since February. Not a scratch, and no separation from screen. If you are looking for a great Screen Protector for your Galaxy S7 I definitely recommend checking out this brand! If you are getting the Galaxy S8 I've already ordered my Armorsuit for it. Now I am just hoping that I get my phone on Friday the 21st and don't have to wait a week.

samsung, dex, dock, windows, screen, station, tech, android
I am so excited that Samsung is finally creating a way to dock your phone and use it as a desktop. I know, I know they aren't the first. But it's Samsung were talking about. They're constantly pushing things out that others classify as "gimmicks." However, some of these products like the Gear VR are a hit. The technology now in these devices are definitely powerful enough to run a basic desktop environment.

I think it takes companies like Samsung to keep on trying new things to move the industry forward. While this isn't pushing any boundaries I do think this has some usefulness. Before I even knew DeX was a thing, I was using my laptop the other day and thinking how nice it would be that everything I did on my phone I could do on my PC. All my apps and settings would automatically be there. Especially with so many apps being mobile centric.

We'll have to wait and see what all Samsung will release with it. Providing value is key here. The value this is providing needs to match the price that is being charged. We already know they've teamed up with Microsoft to provide the tablet versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Still I'm excited for a new toy! Check out the video below that will show DeX in use.

iPhone 8 may move fingerprint reader to the back

According to this article that may be true. My issues with The iPhone are plenty and I know people have plenty of things to say about Android. The iPhone, not iOS, is where my problems with the device are. It has ridiculous bezels.

Removing the home button would be an awesome first step in solving this problem. Not that I plan to ever purchase an Apple product. However, I care about my peeps. Any iPhone user should be able to enjoy the latest and greatest tech. It would be a pretty badass feature to be able to use the touchscreen as a finger print reader.

Apple needs to be able to use Apple Pay everywhere, and wireless charging is must. What features would you like to see on the next iteration of the iPhone? Check out the article above for all the details.
